With the "local news and reporting" nonprofit set to receive a $95,000 city contract to audit local boards and commissions, why have local journalists kept quiet?
I can appreciate how someone might arrive at this juncture. Where democracy seems so fragile that we must wed government directly to the very institution meant to hold it accountable. Who has time for ethics when the enemy is at the gate? I’ve watched A Few Good men at least three times. So I get it. But like you pointed out it remains deeply unethical in every way that matters. That it fails to admit this moral breach while dressed to kill in IPO corpo speak just adds insult to injury.
